Is the RET part of UNHCR?
The RET is an independent organisation, and not part of UNHCR. We were born out of the relationship with UNHCR, at the time of the 50th Anniversary of UNHCR when Mrs. Ogata was High Commissioner for Refugees. The RET works closely with UNHCR in most countries of operation, and shares a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the agency, that fosters mutual support and respectful, complementary cooperation.
