Bridging the Gaps in Africa. The Americas. Asia. Europe.
The RET assisted thousands of refugee and displaced youth in the Republic of Congo by providing them with access to school (especially for girls), through the building of new schools in Dongou, and improvement of the quality of teaching and learning in the classical post-primary courses that were provided. It was important that these youth were prevented from entering harmful and dangerous situations that prevail in such conditions of displacement, therefore the RET improved the safety conditions for them to continue with their education in a secure environment, and provided life skills courses and structured activities that allowed them to build their self-confidence and independence. The DRC secondary education curriculum was followed, allowing students to therefore register in a DRC school or university or find a formal job upon repatriation.
