Students from Seven Refugee Camps in Eastern Chad Take National Sudanese Secondary School-leaving Exams
From March 19th to March 31st 2012, Grade 11 exams were organised for the first time for Sudanese refugee youth from the refugee camps in eastern Chad. The holding of these exams represents an important milestone for the humanitarian community engaged in education activities for refugees in Chad. It is also the culmination of a long process of negotiation between the RET and the Sudanese Ministry of Education which led to the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties, allowing the RET to provide national exams to students funded under their programme, in addition to refugee students who fall under other NGOs’ running secondary schools.
