Voices from the Field: Protection Teams Gather in Ankara

ANKARA, TÜRKIYE – Recently, RET in Türkiye brought together its protection teams for a crucial meeting at its central office in Ankara. The gathering brought together psychologists, social workers, and protection assistants from four community centers in Samsun, Aksaray, Kayseri, and Çorum, who are at the forefront of the “An Integrated Approach to Increase Resilience in Underserved Communities” project’s protection efforts.
Led by Program Manager Ms. Filiz Alsaç and Protection Officer Ms. Iraz Yıldırım, the meeting focused on refining case management strategies and identifying vulnerability criteria within the framework of the organization’s community-based protection initiatives. Participants engaged in effective discussions, sharing valuable insights and best practices from their respective field experiences.

Beyond professional development, the meeting served as a platform for team members from different provinces to connect personally, fostering mutual support and collaboration. This interpersonal interaction is essential for building a cohesive and supportive network within the organization.To further strengthen the impact of RET International’s work, Livelihoods Specialist Mr. Yusuf Can Akyol facilitated a group activity focused on integrating protection and livelihoods components. This collaborative approach aims to create a more holistic and effective response to the challenges faced by vulnerable populations.
