NIAMEY, NIGER – RET Niger successfully convened all its teams in Niamey from November 11 to 13, 2025, for a pivotal national session. Staff traveled from the regions of Agadez, Maradi, and Tillabéry (including Ayorou, Abala, Ouallam, Bankilaré, Téra, Torodi, and Say) to participate.
The three-day session, held under the theme “Building RET Niger 2026 together: Innovation, cohesion, and community impact,” focused on revisiting 2025 achievements, identifying persistent challenges, and collaboratively defining operational priorities for the coming year. The event emphasized moments of analysis, innovation, and cohesion, all designed to strengthen the institutional spirit.
The meeting opened with a welcome from the Country Director, followed by an interactive activity where participants were invited to “draw their colleague,” setting a human and collaborative atmosphere conducive to collective work.
Throughout the session, teams evaluated the various departments, including programs, monitoring-evaluation, finance, logistics, communication, and coordination. This review allowed staff to express expectations and formulate concrete proposals to strengthen coordination and improve essential support services.

A significant focus was placed on protection and ethics. Dedicated time was spent reinforcing core protection concepts. A session on PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) revisited institutional and individual obligations concerning preventing abuse and sexual exploitation, as well as supporting survivors. Participants consolidated their understanding of their responsibilities and reaffirmed their commitment to protection.
Looking ahead to 2026, departments defined shared commitments to enhance RET Niger’s overall performance. The Administration and Finance teams plan to modernize their management tools and further streamline coordination with field teams. Logistics will focus on better resource planning and optimizing operational support for projects. Monitoring and Evaluation is set to develop more participatory approaches, strategically utilizing data and valuing continuous learning. Finally, Communication will strengthen the visibility of actions through the production of dynamic content anchored in field realities.

On the final day, teams refined activity programming, worked to strengthen the gender-sensitive approach, improved the precision of beneficiary targeting, and established the foundation for more integrated follow-up among departments. A review of the 2023–2025 financial results also encouraged strategies for resource optimization and the prioritization of high-impact approaches.
The 2025 national meeting is considered a key moment for measuring progress and planning the future together. The three days successfully harmonized operational priorities, reinforced team cohesion, and laid the groundwork for a 2026 that promises to be more effective, innovative, and firmly anchored in the real needs of the communities RET Niger serves. The workshop concluded with an inspiring message from the Country Director, celebrating engagement and symbolizing shared commitment.
