AKKAR, LEBANON – On 4 February 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture and GATE Lebanon and RET Germany, to establish a structured framework for cooperation under the Akkar project, “Improving Food Security, Livelihoods, and the Inclusion of Women and Vulnerable Groups, and Promoting Gender Equality in North Lebanon.”
The MoU aims to strengthen institutional collaboration and ensure the long-term sustainability of the agricultural interventions funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Through this agreement, the Ministry of Agriculture commits to supporting the project by providing technical expertise, sharing institutional knowledge, facilitating access to its facilities and engaging relevant ministerial staff at both central and field levels.
