OUR COMMITMENT

Empowering Local Communities

RET's Localization Strategy

Since 2016’s Grand Bargain, there has been a push by governments and UN agencies for local NGOs to implement more projects. Since our founding, we have focused heavily in philosophy and practice on localization – always working with local staff, organizations, and building capacity of local NGOs through our international experts to ensure our projects are the most effective and impactful as possible.

The organizations profiled here represent a sample of our local partners. Coupled with our extensive experience working with governments, UN agencies, and multilateral organizations like the EU, we’ve built a reputation as an NGO that can deliver innovative programs in locales where others cannot.

ACPEJ

In eastern DRC, we have worked with ACPEJ (Actions des Ex-Combattants Pour l’Encadrement des Jeunes et la Lutte contre l’Enrôlement des Enfants et les Violences Sexuelles et Basées sur le Genre) to deploy programs that have demobilized child soldiers and provided them a new path in life. To protect vulnerable women and youth in Lebanon, as well as work with local communities on life-saving food security and nutrition projects, GATE has been an invaluable partner to RET. Learn more about GATE.

As our implementing partner in Türkiye, LEAP focuses on protection and social cohesion projects and has worked with us on language and entrepreneurship programs, among others. Learn more about LEAP.
