In Lebanon, Sport Fosters Peace and Unity Among Communities

BEKAA, LEBANON – In June 2024, RET Germany, in partnership with GATE Lebanon organized an event that brought joy and excitement to the local community, fostering unity between Lebanese and Syrian children.
Coach Elie Matar, a dedicated sports enthusiast, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the recent distribution of sports equipment for his club and the children involved. This event was a significant moment of togetherness, with 40 children—including 25 Lebanese and 15 Syrian participants—coming together to celebrate the power of sports.

The day was filled with engaging activities designed to promote teamwork and skill development. The young athletes eagerly participated in dribbling races, passing drills, and three exciting shooting games.
A highlight of the event was a friendly match where the children showcased their newfound skills. Dressed in their new sports gear, they played with enthusiasm, demonstrating how sports can bridge communities and foster friendships.
Thanks to these efforts, the number of children joining the sports club has grown significantly. Coach Elie sincerely thanked everyone, especially GATE Lebanon team, for their invaluable support in providing sports equipment. He emphasized how such initiatives strengthen community bonds, empower children, and highlight the role of sports in uniting people. he added:
“This has truly enhanced our football training and activities for the children. Your support has made a big difference, and we deeply appreciate your efforts.”
